Littlehill is home to approximately 45 cats. Most were feral cats and kittens, which we caught, neutered and released in safe areas. Many have found their way back to Littlehill, and why wouldn’t they? They have the run of the place, and there are any number of cosy beds dotted around in stables, and ad lib food and water. The bonus is that their presence deters rodents from moving in . . . sometimes. They are so well-fed that they often just look at a passing mouse in astonishment! “What? You expect me to move and chase that? No way, I’m far too comfy to move!”

We also have a “special needs” cat area. These are a few very elderly, or very young cats, that need additional care and the warmth of their heated room, with its attached “catio” for outdoor sunbathing, or just observing the busy goings-on of the sanctuary.

We estimate that we have rescued and treated more than 250 cats in total in the past few years!

As with the dogs, from time to time we will look for homes for cats or kittens that have come into our care. They will all have been treated for parasites, vaccinated and neutered/spayed before going to their new homes. Once again, a home inspection is mandatory, as is the adoption fee.
